Manufacturing Steps
We strongly believe that every unique and high level hand crafted frame rise from a wise and conscious choice of raw materials: this is the main reason why we just use professional and high level pipes. In kevlar, carbon fiber, steel, alluminium, carbon fiber or Kevlar .

The Milling
Milling is among the most important and careful steps in the realization of a cycle frame, from which directly result the lines and the stability of the frame itself. Having pipes today different thickness, each pipe is milled in strategic points in order to maintain the severity of structure and the solidity of the pipe itself. Following to this first procedure, each pipe is enclosed with microscopic tolerances.

The Welding
Steel welding is made with silver at low temperature, and is then slowly cooled to leave unchanged the mechanical characteristics of the pipe. Otherwise, the aluminium welding is carrying out through a T I G welding, processed after a careful cleaning of the pipe itself. For the carbon fiber bikes we use the new carbon fiber binding system that let us to produce frame of every size.

Squaring the frame
This operation is entirely handmade through the pendant level. Each pipe, previously welded, is checked on this pendant level. The frame is then double checked once the structure has been completed.

Filing and final touch
This is the longest procedure, completely handmade with sand paper. As a matter of fact, taking care of details has always been the basis of every Formigli frame.

Painting
It has the gift of adorning a frame. Each color combination of a Formigli frame is studied and tested on a sample frame before than being approved and officially used. Combining performances and pure beauty is always, by the way, our main goal.

Quality Certification
The accurate processing needed by a Formigli frame for bike is certified by a Quality certificate containing frame number and delivery date to the customer, in order to protect our products and our customers.
